MAN UNITED IN SKOPJE

With both teams having completed their training sessions and media commitments, we're signing off for the night in Skopje. Join us again on matchday tomorrow as we continue to build up to the big game.
21:25 BST
BALE AND RONALDO TRAIN
Gareth Bale was initially sat in the dugout but has made his way to the main group, where Cristiano Ronaldo was already heavily involved. It would appear fair to say both look available for selection here tomorrow night.
20:23 BST
ZIDANE ON BALE
Zinedine Zidane provided an update on Gareth Bale's situation. "What's important is he is well and he's had a a lot of continuous training sessions with us. At the end of last season, it was not easy for him as he was almost four months out of the team with injury. Now he's very well and very concentrated. It's not important what has been said, it's what we are going to do tomorrow."
20:07 BST
RONALDO AVAILABLE TO PLAY
Zidane on Ronaldo: "He's relaxed and physically he is as fit as he was on the day of the final two months ago. The fact he is with us means a lot. If he's with us, it's because he is ready to play. Tomorrow, we will see if he plays or not."
20:04 BST
ZIDANE FOCUSED ON THE GAME
Real coach Zinedine Zidane is here, dressed in a white Madrid shirt. "Now is when everything starts," he insists. "We know a lot about our rivals but what concerns us mostly is what we are going to do."
20:03 BST
RAMOS ON PAST UNITED INTEREST
Sergio Ramos was asked about the strong links with United before he signed a new deal at Madrid. "There was a situation in the past but I am very glad I signed my last contract with Real. I have to be grateful to Manchester for the interest they expressed in the past. It's a great club and I wish them all the best but not when we are rivals."
TOUR MATCH RESULT NOT RELEVANT
Marcelo adds about United: "We know the rival here is a hugely important team. We played against them in pre-season but that's pre-season, a different thing. The important thing is tomorrow."
RAMOS AND MARCELO SPEAK
Sergio Ramos and Marcelo are the two Real players addressing the media. "We have an appointment with history," said Ramos. "Cristiano Ronaldo is a very important player and, regardless how many days he's trained, it's important he's here with the team. To have him here, whether he plays or not, is vital."
19:48 BST
TRAINING PICS
Here are some of the training pics we promised...
19:49 BST
IMPRESSIONS OF SKOPJE
The Philip II Arena is a great stadium set against an attractive mountain backdrop, much like United enjoyed on tour in Salt Lake City last month. Perched on top of the Vodno Mountain behind the stadium is the 66-metre Millennium Cross.
19:23 BST
TRAINING SESSION OVER
United's hour-long session concludes with shooting practice, some 'boxes' and a small-sided match - plus plenty of breaks to get fluids on board. We'll have more pics shortly, while Zinedine Zidane will be holding a press conference soon.
19:20 BST
FANZONE IN SKOPJE
In the centre of Skopje, UEFA's Fanzone - featuring live music, the Super Cup trophy and a football-shaped mascot - is up and running. There are also a few United flags around.
19:06 BST
KEEPERS STAY COOL
There are plenty of laughs in the training session - it seems clear the players are going to follow their manager's advice and enjoy this occasion. Meanwhile, I don't know how David De Gea and Sergio Romero are coping in their goalkeeper gloves, in this heat!
18:53 BST
STRETCHING FOR THE REDS
United's 26-man squad is now on the pitch. The players, in their new black and red training kits, are currently stretching. Close-up pics to follow!
18:43 BST
VIEW FROM THE PRESS BOX
Here's our first view from the press box high up in the Philip II Arena, as we wait the arrival of United's players for their training session.
18:33 BST
CARRICK ON MATIC
The skipper said of United's summer signing: "He's a terrific player, a great signng for us, who knows what it takes to win. He had a massive part to play at Chelsea and what’s important is he knows the league, the English way, how tough it is, how the season is, so he’ll adapt quickly at United and I hope he’ll have a big part to play for years to come."
18:20 BST
MATA ON CHARITY INITIATIVE
Asked about his pledge to donate 1 per cent of his earnings to global football charity initiative 'Common Goal', Mata said: "Football is a great sport that we all love, but it means much more than that for many people around the world. the idea was to bring together professional footballers and social together for change and for improving so many peoples lives. Toegther we can be stornger and make a real impact in the world through football."
18:19 BST
MATA ON REAL MADRID
"They are the ones everyone wants to beat; they have a great team, they won league in Spain," said Mata. "We know how good they are but United has great history and record of titles. We won three trophies last season. One day, sooner rather than later, we want to be where they were last season – in a Champions League final and hopefully winning it."
18:12 BST
CARRICK ON SUPER CUP AMBITION
"You can’t underestimate what we achieved to be here so we’re taking it seriously - I’m not sure anyone in our squad has won it," Carrick added.

Michael Carrick and Juan Mata followed the boss into the the press conference room and the former was asked about Henrikh Mkhitaryan's role tomorrow. JOSE: ENJOY THE MOMENT
Jose wants his squad to "play and enjoy this special moment". He added: "It’s not many times a player can play in the Super Cup unless you are Real or Barcelona, winning European trophies regularly."
18:01 BST
MANCHESTER RAIN SCUPPERS PLANS
On the soaring temperatures in Macedonia, Mourinho said: "I knew the weather was like this. Since returning from the States, I decided to train in Manchester every day at 4pm to give the feeling of heat, but it was raining every day! Even for Real it has to be hard, though they are more adapted. Maybe they’ll have a break for some water but we have to try to play against the European champions."
18:00 BST
MOURINHO: WE CAN WIN IT
"We are going to try but the difference between the Champions League winners and Europa League winners is obvious," continued the boss. "The Europa League is very difficult to win; there is a difference of quality but we believe it’s possible."
17:58 BST
MATIC AVAILABLE
Discussing Nemanja Matic's bid for full fitness, following his unofficial debut against Sampdoria last week, Jose said: "Obviously Matic is available but not like the others."
17:55 BST
TEAM NEWS FOR SUPER CUP
"Mourinho delivered some team news at the start of his press conference in Skopje. "No Phil Jones, no Eric Bailly and no Tim Fosu-Mensah because, in this moment, Tim is probably going on loan to another club," said the boss. "The injuries are the long-term ones you all know – Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Marcos Rojo. Apart from that, everyone is available."
17:52 BST
SUPER CUP BIG IN SKOPJE
It's clear that Tuesday's game, UEFA's annual curtain-raiser, is big news in Skopje. Posters advertising the game lined the streets on our way into the city from the airport, friendly locals are asking us questions everywhere we go and there are plenty of UEFA officials around the hotel.
16:00 BST
MOURINHO'S PRESS CONFERENCE
Mourinho will be holding a press conference at the stadium later and that will be followed by a training session for the United players. Look out for updates from around 16:00 BST and, in the meantime, check out our early team news article and scene-setter.

HEATWAVE IN SKOPJE
We're right in the middle of the heatwave that has engulfed southern Europe over the past couple of weeks. And while Tuesday's game does not kick off until 20:45 local time, temperatures are still expected to be around 30 degrees Celsius. It's going to be tough for the players from both sides.
