Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher named just three Manchester City players combined in their Premier League teams of the season so far as Manchester United's stars did not get a look in.
Pep Guardiola's side are currently on a roll and appear to be in high spirits heading into 2024. In December, the Blues won the FIFA Club World Cup while rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa all dropped points in the title race.
City sit third in the table, five points behind Jurgen Klopp's leaders but having played a game fewer. Despite this, Guardiola's players feature sparingly in the team of the season so far.

Neville has named two City players in the form of Rodri and Erling Haaland. The Blues' defensive midfielder has been missed when absent and continues to prove his worth at both ends of the pitch, as shown by his goal against Sheffield United.
Meanwhile, Haaland may not have had the same explosive impact as last season but he still has 14 goals in 15 Premier League appearances. Surprisingly, Carragher has opted to omit both of City's key players but has added Bernardo Silva.
The Portuguese midfielder is one of Guardiola's most versatile players and has stepped up to the plate in Kevin De Bruyne's absence. While City are sparingly represented, United do not feature at all.
The Reds have had a dreadful campaign so far and currently sit seventh in the Premier League, nine points outside the top four. Results have seen pressure grow on Erik ten Hag who will be hoping for a positive second half of the campaign to make sure he is around by the summer.
