The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to La Liga this summer and his relationship with Jose Mourinho is said to be at an all-time low. Pogba was made captain by Mourinho for United’s opening day win against Leicester and the 25-year-old scored from the penalty spot during a man-of-the-match display. However, the Frenchman did little to quash reports that he is unhappy at Old Trafford after the game when he stopped for reporters and said: ‘There are things I can say and there are things that I cannot say, otherwise I will get fined’. Barcelona are monitoring the midfielder’s situation and could make things difficult for United by moving for him in the next fortnight given Premier League clubs can no longer sign players. However, Metro.co.uk understands Pogba will receive a £3.4m bonus if he stays at the club for the remainder of the month due to a clause in his contract.
