VIEWS ON UNITED'S WIN V STOKE

ManUtd.com has gathered a selection of post-match opinions from players, the two managers and supporters following Manchester United's 3-0 victory over Stoke City on Monday night.

The Reds comfortably disposed of the Potters to consolidate second place in the Premier League as Antonio Valencia, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku all scored at the Theatre of Dreams.
Here are some quotes from the players and pundits as United reflect on a convincing win and look ahead to Saturday's clash with Burnley. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho: "I think the first half was not very good. We scored an amazing goal, but it was not enough to hurt them because they had a very good reaction. In the second half, it was different and harder for them. At 2-0, it was difficult for them to react as we were in control of the game. We had lots of chances to score the third goal and to kill the match before, but to say the match was out of control from the beginning, I wouldn't say that because I think they were good."
Manchester United defender Chris Smalling: "In the first 20 minutes, we really came out the traps and started really well. I think we dropped off towards the end of the first half, but coming out in the second half, it was about getting that third goal to make sure we didn't give them any chances. That third goal was coming for a long time and there could have been a couple more. We're scoring some great goals and long may it continue."
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba: "I think it was a very good team performance - we want to carry on like this. We made a lot of chances, but we cannot forget the defence did very well today and David De Gea made some great saves. We want to carry on this way. We know [Manchester] City lost, we want to catch them, but we have to focus on ourselves."
Stoke City interim manager Eddie Niedzwiecki: "I thought we started the game really well. We came with a plan and, for long parts of the first half, we played some really good stuff. Unfortunately, we made a little mistake and got ruthlessly punished for that by Antonio Valencia, but even after that, we picked ourselves up and created opportunities. Credit to the players because they showed some real fight and passion – there is a huge period coming up now and everybody has to stick together."
MUTV's Paddy Crerand: "The two goals in the first half knocked the stuffing out of Stoke and, after that, it was one-way traffic in the second half. Paul Pogba was terrific - that's not taking anything away from the rest of the players, but he is that good a player. United were terrific."
View from Twitter - @MUFC_HP: "Good performance, good win and some great goals scored tonight. Three wins from three in 2018, need to keep this up!"
