SIX REASONS WHY JOSE'S DEAL IS GREAT NEWS

Jose Mourinho has extended his contract with Manchester United and it's a move which should ensure the Reds keep challenging for silverware.

The Portuguese coach has already won the Community Shield, League Cup and Europa League and the team is in the mix for more trophies again in 2017/18.
Here we present six reasons why his new deal is such a positive development for the club...
SOMETHING GOODAs the terrace chant goes, Jose's got us playing the way United should, winning three trophies in his debut season. The Reds have outscored virtually all of our rivals in the Premier League this term and the problem of drawing too many home games last term has largely been eradicated. Anybody watching the team regularly will surely be pleased with the attacking intent with Alexis Sanchez now added to the formula.
A WINNING MENTALITYJose brings with him the aura of somebody who is driven to succeed, as his track record suggests. Ever since stepping into the club he has looked far from overawed by the size of the task of managing the Reds and, of course, you would expect nothing less from him. An elite coach and a huge personality, he knows what it takes to get the club back to the top of the table.
A SOLID BASEDavid De Gea has kept more clean sheets than any of his Premier League counterparts this season and, although there appears to be a growing demand for crazy, entertaining football matches in certain quarters, for obvious reasons, having a tight defence is actually pretty reassuring. The backline has looked the best in the division for long periods, aside from the Christmas spell where two goals were conceded in three successive fixtures, but the current run of six consecutive clean sheets in all competitions has garnered rather less media attention.
TRANSFER MARKET NOUSThe boss has a great strike rate when it comes to making raids in the market and signings such as Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Romelu Lukaku have had a huge impact on the team. Gradually shaping his own squad, Jose addressed an issue up front by plugging the gap left by the injured Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had been a major hit in his first campaign. Alexis is the latest stellar arrival and the boss seems to have a firm idea of who else he wants to bolster his squad with in 2018. Watch this space in the summer.
MYTH BUSTING!Certain things are said about Jose in a bid to undermine his achievements, as is usually the case when anybody experiences a great degree of success. He never trusts youngsters apparently, and yet Marcus Rashford has played in every single game again this season. Scott McTominay has been promoted to the senior squad and Axel Tuanzebe has been promised his future lies in the first team, following his loan spell at Aston Villa. Much is made of the suggestion managers should 'improve' players and yet there could be an argument Jesse Lingard is the most improved player in the Premier League in 2017/18, thriving under the manager's expert guidance.
STABILITYMany United supporters grew up knowing only one man as manager - the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson. While his 26-year stint at the helm may never be repeated, we are not a club used to chopping and changing bosses like an increasing number of sides. Yes, Jose is the third manager since the great Scot retired but now he has more time to create his own dynasty and fully implement his grand plans. There is certainly great faith in the boss realising all his ambitions here.
