A COLLECTOR'S ITEM FOR ANTONIO VALENCIA

Antonio Valencia's screamer in Manchester United's 3-0 victory over Stoke City was something of a collector's item.

The right-back returned to the side after injury to take the captain's armband and got the ball rolling against the Potters when cutting inside to smash a bending drive past visiting keeper Jack Butland.
The instant reaction inside the ground was surprise that it was a left-footed effort by the Ecuadorian, rather than via his trademark sledgehammer of a right boot. In fact, our research suggests it was the first time he has ever scored for the Reds with his left foot.
Valencia netted headers against Fulham and Arsenal but 22 of his now overall United tally of 25 goals all came via his favoured foot.
It is not the first time he has ever scored with his left boot in the Premier League, however, as he did so for former club Wigan Athletic, when sealing a 2-0 triumph over Derby County in February, 2008.
