UNITED STARS MEET FANS AT DREAM DAY

The players took time out from preparations for the Huddersfield Town match to meet excited fans at Manchester United Foundation's latest Dream Day.

Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata were among the Reds who made it a day to remember for young fans with serious and life-limiting illnesses on Friday afternoon at the Aon Training Complex.
Matic, who joined United last summer, was attending his first Dream Day and told us: "I'm very happy to be here with the kids - I know this means a lot to them and I'm happy if we can make them smile."
The heart-warming event takes place twice a season, and the latest event saw supporters from across the country, and a few from even further afield, meet their heroes at the Jimmy Murphy Visitors' Centre after watching the team train.
Among the group of 16 guests was 13-year-old Alex who suffers from leukemia. Alex, who had made the long trip from New York with his father, said: "It feels really good as we’ve watched them on TV so much, so to meet them all was great."
His father Michael added: "Today is special, we’ve been following United for years now and to be able to come here and meet the players is a dream come true."
Reds midfielder Mata was given a special gift by adoring fan Alice, who has type one diabetes, presenting him with a rose and a letter.
The United star returned the favour and gifted her a signed training bib from Friday's session and he said of the exchange: "It was great, she is beautiful girl and she gave me a letter and a rose so I’m really happy, and I’m pleased for her because she’s smiling a lot and having a great day."
