Manchester United Under-16s got their trip to Hong Kong off to a winning start as they beat The Hong Kong District All-Stars 7-0.
The young Reds are spending a week training with the Hong Kong Football Association Academy squad, as part of the initiative set up by the HKFA, and the match against the All-Stars was the first of the tour.
MUTV are also out in Hong Kong, and have been documenting the Under-16s' experiences every step of the way, as well as interviewing the coaches about the trip. Neil Ryan, Academy phase coach Under-15s/16s, was keen to praise his youngsters after their win.
"We knew it would be challenging here with the conditions, with the weather and the humidity," he said. "We coped well with the challenge and, as the game went on, I was really pleased with the boys.
"Now we'll have a few days rest to recover, recuperate and get everyone ready to play again. We'll go into the next game with a lot of confidence after this performance, and we're looking forward to it."
Next up for United's Under-16s is a match against Hong Kong's national Under-17s team on Saturday.
The youngsters have joined the newly established JC Youth Football Academy Summit, through official club partner The Hong Kong Jockey Club, for a week-long stay in Hong Kong in order to experience the country's culture.
