90 - GOAL! Martial turns provider as he plays a neat one-two with Pogba, who then strokes home from the edge of the area!

87 - Micki is replaced by Lingard after a sterling afternoon.

87 - GOAL! Micki plays in Martial who finds himself one-on-one with Hart and he cooly slots home into the bottom corner.

86 - Pin-ball in the West Ham box as Pogba and then Fellaini attempt to fashion shooting positions, but Reid clears.

84 - Bailly wins a goal kick after the Hammers try a short corner.

83 - West Ham corner as Valencia deflects Cresswell's cross behind.

81 - Masuaku goes off for the Hammers as Cresswell comes on.

30 - Masuaku is fouled by Pogba 30 yards out, but Arnautovic's free-kick is stopped at the first hurdle by Mata who clears from the edge of the United box.

28 - United have two corners back-to-back cleared, before Blind tries one short to Micki whose threatening ball is punched out by Hart with Pogba lying in wait.

27 - The Reds are building pressure now, and Mata is again found in the box by Pogba, but his attemped cross is cleared out for a corner by Ogbonna.

25 - Rashford and Blind both have shots blocked as United continue to press in search of the opening goal.

22 - Noble again tries to create something for the Hammers but his new team-mate Arnautovic has ventured offside.

20 - Chicharito is set up by Noble but fires wide of the target. Phew.

18 - Mata runs onto a Mkhitaryan pass but Hart is out to block. The Spaniard picks up the loose ball but Lukaku is crowded out in the middle as he tries to meet the cross.

16 - Jose is already expressing frustration at the Hammers shot-stopper Hart who is seemingly time wasting already.

15 - Blind drifts in a corner and Zabaleta clears, to Micki whose shot from the edge of the area is blocked.

14 - Mata jinks into the box and finds Rashford who is brought down but the referee waves his claims away.

11 - Pogba is showing up well and his low cross causes problems for the Hammers. Mkhitaryan has had an effort on goal as United press.

7 - Lukaku breaks down the right using his pace and powers and wins a corner

4 - Pogba's cross-field ball is headed clear by Zabaleta, and United's attack from the resulting free-kick breaks down.

1 - United's 2017/18 Premier League season kicks off with Juan Mata getting us under way in front of a boisterous crowd.

The two sets of players are out on the pitch and Chicharito has, understandably, received a warm welcome back to Old Trafford. Joe Hart, less so - again as you would expect.

Jose Mourinho says in today's match programme: "It makes me so happy to be manager of this club, working with these guys. During my long career I have never worked with a group as much as I like them."

A new Bryan Robson mural was unveiled inside Old Trafford today, and the great man was there to see it!

Slaven Bilic has named four of his summer signings in his line-up today, as Joe Hart, Marko Arnautovic, Pablo Zabaleta and Javier Hernandez will all make their Premier League bow for the Hammers.

Nemanja Matic could also make his Premier League bow for United today. Speaking ahead of the match, the boss said of the Serbian: "I think he’s the perfect player for me. Not just for his qualities but also for my relationship with him, the way I know him, the way he knows me." Read more in our news story.

United's new signing Victor Lindelof could make his Premier League debut today, and ahead of the match he spoke exclusively to MUTV. "If I get the opportunity to play on Sunday it will be a great experience," he said. "I’ve dreamt of playing in the Premier League all my life. Old Trafford is a great stadium with a lot of history and for me to be able to call it my home is very special."

"We end every game dry because we gave everything we have to give and with this our fans can count in every match, our group is fantastic, our group respects the history of the club and knows the responsibility to play for the club," he declared. "And without promises, we can promise that we will give everything.”

Jose Mourinho is previously unbeaten in eight Premier League opening fixtures, having won seven matches and drawn one. Last season he led United to a fine 3-1 away win at Bournemouth, can he continue his unbeaten run and his side get off to a flyer today?
