The Real Madrid man fires well wide. it's still 1-1 in the shoot-out.

Casilla is there to save from Victor as he tried to go down the centre.

De Gea was close again to saving that, but it just squeezed in.

The first goal of the shoot-out as Micki sends Casilla the wrong way and calmly slots home.

Erm, it's another save! And a fantastic one at that from David again, this time from Oscar.

90+2 - Gomez takes aim from the right side of the box for Real, but it flies wide.

90 - We're into three minutes of injury time. Penalties loom large.

87 - Excellent clearance from Lindelof as Real threatened. United clear the resulting corner.

85 - That's a booking for Oscar after he pulled down Mkhitaryan after some great skill from the Armenian.

83 - What a chance for Fellaini to score from McTominay's whipped cross, but he couldn't keep his effort down.

82 - Should the scores stay the same, we will go to a penalty shoot-out.

80 - McTominay has looked lively since coming on and has been getting forward well. He almost put Pogba through before and Mkhitaryan had a shot well blocked as United look to up the pressure.

73 - Acrobatic save from De Gea as Quezeda takes aim with a free-kick from the tightest of angles.

69 - Real draw level through Casemiro's unstoppable spotkick past De Gea.

68 - Lindelof upends Hernandez and that's a penalty to Real Madrid.

67 - Martial is still looking lively and has just won the Reds a corner. McTominay did well to slot a pass into Fellaini in the box when it was cleared, but the Belgian was flagged offside.

62 - Half a chance for the Reds as a corner came in, but Fellaini couldn't keep his header down.

Everyone connected to United enjoyed that fine first goal. Lingard likes this stadium - he scored last time we were here, against Barcelona in 2015.

51 - Ander Herrera's game is over before it's hardly started as the midfielder is replaced by Scott McTominay. The Spaniard was holding his ribs as he walked off after picking up a knock. Hopefully it's not too serious.

Great to see actress Julia Roberts and golfer Annika Sorenstam cheering on the Reds today.

Another decent half from the Reds who took the lead almost on the stroke of half-time. Martial's superb skill made it easy for Lingard to finish from close range. So far, so good for United.

45+1 - What a goal from United and it's all down to Martial's brilliant skill. His pull-back was inch-perfect for Lingard to simply tap home.

45+1 - Here goes Martial as he dribbles past about 5 defenders and crosses for Jesse...

45 - We're into three minutes of added time. It remains goalless.

44 - Brilliant skill from Modric who skipped into the box and crossed the ball, but United defended well again.

42 - Just as I typed that about Real, United went up the other end and Lingard fired just wide.

40 - That's a brilliant block from Phil Jones as Bale sent a dangerous cross into the area from the left. Real have just started to get into a few more dangerous positions in the last few minutes.

37 - Toni Kroos has just sent a decent free-kick in, but the United defence were ready and cleared easily.

33 - This is United's penultimate match in the States by the way. The Reds head to Washington DC tonight ahead of Wednesday's clash with Barcelona. Then it's on to Oslo next Sunday to face Valerenga, before a trip to Dublin against Sampdoria to complete Tour 2017.

30 - Both sides are having a quick water break for a couple of minutes now. It is very hot out there.

26 - The ball is swung in from the left by Marcelo, but that's a solid take from Romero.

22 - Both teams are definitely keen to win this. There have been some strong tackles in midfield so far. Good to see the competitive edge even in a friendly!

19 - Some really neat interplay by Real just then almost resulted in Benzema getting through, but the Reds defended well.

16 - Chance there for Real to break but Modric's pass is uncharacteristically overhit. United remain on top.

12 - The Reds are knocking the ball around nicely at the moment, with the front three looking lively.

10 - There seems to be a pretty even split of fans in the stadium. Lots of 'oohs and ahhs' when both teams attack.

8 - Here goes Jesse with a fine strike from distance, but that's a great save from Keylor Navas.

5 - Close call then. The ball came in from the left and Bale would have headed home, but for an excellent intervention from Sergio Romero.

4 - Pereira swings in a corner but it's well cleared by Real.

1 - Some early possession for the Reds, who beat Real Madrid's great rivals Barcelona here two years ago.

The Reds' dressing room was just being set up when I popped down earlier and I snapped a shot of some of the shirts being hung up. There is plenty of room to prepare in the dressing room here - as is the case with a lot of 'locker rooms' in the States, it's huge!

In case you missed it, Jose Mourinho revealed two things about David De Gea in his pre-match press conference yesterday. The first is the goalkeeper won't be going anywhere this season and will be staying at United and the second is that he will play 45 minutes today, with Sergio Romero playing the other 45.

I just popped down to field level before and it's safe to say the pitch is in great shape.

It'll be red against white today with United donning the new red home kit and Real Madrid in their classic white kit. We grabbed this shot of Michael Carrick's shirt in the dressing room before and, as captain, Carras will present the Madrid team with this pennant just before kick-off.
